Thursday’s Migraine
The migraine experience is more than just pain. It actually involves three separate phases - prodrome (how one feels before it comes), the actual pain cycle (pain of course, but often nausea, exhaustion, confusion, and visual disturbances, to name a few); and the postdrome, often called "migraine hangover" - the feeling of being totally wiped out, exhausted, confused, not oneself. A migraine can last from 4-72 hours beginning to end - any longer, and it’s called "status migrainous" and one needs to go to the doctor or ER STAT! That said, dear Flickr friends, I’m heading for bed!
