Does anyone know the cause for a migraine?
I am taking Imitrex for my migraines, sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn’t.What causes a migraine to cause so much pain, and hurt in the eyes, and in the ears-my migraines come with sensitivity to sight and sound, and sometimes effects my stomache.I do have Epilepsy, and I think this is causing my migraines ( I mean my seizures are causing them),but could the medicine that I am taking have any effect on the migraine medicine?I am taking Keppra, and Tegretal.I have been on medicine for 33 years.Could this be my problem?

I would say a migraine headache is caused by Cesium.Imagine energy flowing from your face. That’s cesium leaving you.
Have you tried Beta Blockers typically used for blood pressure but has the added benefit of preventing Migraines? I used to get them 6 days or so a week until I took a Beta Blocker for my blood pressure. My headaches dropped down considerably! You can also take it even if you don’t have high blood pressure. I was shocked at how much better I was after that.
It’s awful… those headaches. I still get quite a few from perfumes, changing temperatures too quickly in the environment, or even going into casinos where they pump oxygen and perfumes into the enviroment. Some food triggers too. I’m a bit hyper sensitive to a lot of things- but there are a whole slew of reasons for that.
Get checked for allergies, as environmental factors can also contribute to your symptoms. -Good luck.
Have you ever had an MRA of your brain done to rule out an occulsion/clot? As far as your medicine, side effects of getting a headache are possible along with other neurological changes…which is what the medicine is suppose to do. When was the last time you had you labs (blood test) for the levels of tegretal and keppra? Call your neurologist/physician with any questions that you have, I’m sure they’d be happy to help.
The cause of migraine is unknown. The condition may result from a series of reactions in the central nervous system caused by changes in the body or in the environment. There is often a family history of the disorder, suggesting that migraine sufferers may inherit sensitivity to triggers that produce inflammation in the blood vessels and nerves around the brain, causing pain.
A trigger is any stimulus that initiates a process or reaction. Commonly identified migraine triggers include the following:
*Alcohol (e.g., red wine)
*Environmental factors (e.g., weather, altitude, time zone changes)
*Foods that contain caffeine (e.g., coffee, chocolate), monosodium glutamate (MSG; found in Chinese food), and nitrates (e.g., processed foods, hot dogs)
*Glare
*Hormonal changes in women
*Hunger
*Lack of sleep
*Medications (over-the-counter and prescription)
*Perfume
*Stress
I have an autoimmune clotting disorder called Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome. I have had mirgraines for years up until recently they were better once I was placed on anticoagulants. So you may want to ask your doctor about testing you for this, especially considering you are having seizures.
PS: I am not a doctor but a very educated patient.
