Can anyone tell me about any migraine pills they have used?
I get migraines about 3 to 4 times a month and they get really bad. I am currently using Imitrex, but I don’t like the side effects. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions? Possibly even migraine avoiding tips?

I use Imitrex and have for years. The side effects that I experience are not debilitating. I experimented with many rx’s before deciding that Imitrex is the best for me. I also use OTC Excedrin Migraine.
I Used Migraleve for years(taking 2 pink tablets on outbreak then 2 yellow ones 4hrs later and every 4 hours till it goes)until I woke up one morning with a headache,sat up on the edge of the bed,it went,when I lay back down an intense pain in my temples came back…Decided to go to the doctors,they checked my blood pressure,it was very high,put me on Adalat for high blood pressure..Sinc I have been on these since January 2007,have only had one minor headache since then….I suggest you get your blood pressure checked out it case it is a contributing factor….good luck
Few Fever ,riboflavins(coffee,tea) and cayenne will open the vessels as well as any Rx.
If you can think of any common foods,stress ,sounds,smells or alcohol consumption, when they start or shortly after.
You may find your cause and be able to avoid it. Keep in mind they sometimes are related to vascular problems . Lacking in certain vitamins can cause migraines to.
Find a good chiropractor and have him/her check you out. You could have any number of problems that contribute to your problem including a pinched nerve or stress. I had migraines for many years and took all kinds if pain medicine. There are many side effects of prescription drugs that may or may not surface for years. You could be damaging internal organs with the stuff including your stomach, kidneys and liver. Give the chiropractor a chance, they know alot about migraines and would be happy to help you.
